Walk through our manufacturing floor, one continuous journey across a line of precision equipment. This is how raw aluminium becomes the foil that protects your medicine, preserves your food, and carries your brand - from purchase order to pallet on your dock.
After the Separator, every reel takes a different route. Not all foil passes through annealing - and not all annealed foil gets a coating. The route is decided here.
Hard 'as-rolled' temper foil bypasses the Wesman annealing furnace entirely. Reels move straight to the Rotomec coater for VMCH one side and HSL (heat-seal lacquer) the other, then onward through slitting, printing, doctoring, inspection and final QC before dispatch.
Pharma strip-pack foil in 30–40 micron takes the full annealing route. Reels enter the Wesman furnace and are softened to 'O' temper, then laminated with Poly/LDPE before moving through slitting, printing, doctoring, quality control and final dispatch.
Some foils need nothing more than heat. Soft-annealed lidding foil and tagger foil (AA8011 / AA8079, O-temper, 9–60 mic) leave the Wesman furnace in their finished state - no coating, no lamination required at our end. Lidding foil seals onto trays, containers, and vials at the customer's line. Tagger foil runs through hot-stamping and labelling machines. Pure aluminium. Delivered bare, ready to perform.
Soft annealed foil slit to width, doctored and packed. BIS IS 15392:2003 certified. Pure aluminium, nothing added.
Every reel begins with a purchase order. AA8011, AA8021 or AA8079 aluminium stock arrives at our gate - 200 to 350 microns thick, stiff enough to stand on its own edge. Heavy in the hand. Quiet. Waiting. This is the raw ingredient from which everything that follows is shaped.

Pass after pass, the Achenbach squeezes the metal between precision rollers under enormous pressure. No heat - only force. With every pass the foil grows thinner, until it emerges at just 9 to 60 microns - thinner than a human hair. The aluminium crystals lock into a distorted lattice, giving the foil its Hard temper: stiff, springy, ready.

Controlled heat coaxes the locked aluminium crystals to relax and recrystallise into a new, orderly structure. Hard becomes Soft - O-temper - pliable, non-springy, ready for lamination. For pharmaceutical blister foil this step is bypassed entirely - sorted out one stage earlier, it walks straight into the coater.

Hard 'as-rolled' foil enters the Rotomec and meets two precisely metered coats - VMCH on one face, Shellac heat-seal lacquer on the other. 4 to 8 grams per square metre, calibrated to the gram. Sealing strength verified at ≥500 gm/25mm. Zero pinholes. Heat-seal adhesion tested, free from flaking. The Italian roto-gravure coater runs at controlled web tension so every metre carries the same uniform film. This is the foil that will sit on a pharmacy shelf - and it leaves this machine ready to guard the dose inside.

Soft annealed O-temper foil - 30 to 40 microns, pliable and relaxed - enters the Alpha Roto lamination line and meets a precisely extruded layer of poly/LDPE. Heat and pressure bond the two into a single, inseparable web. The laminate emerges with uniform adhesion, no delamination risk, and the exact seal strength strip packaging demands. Pharma strip pack foil leaves this station wrapped in a protective polymer skin, ready for slitting and print.

Wide parent reels meet circular blades of surgical precision. The NISSI SLIT 2001 handles 2-drum slitting for standard reels and cantilever-style for narrow or delicate jobs. Every reel emerges at the exact width the customer ordered - no waste, no torn edges, no compromise.

Up to five colours through rotogravure - or two-colour reverse, ink trapped safely between layers for under-lamination branding. Automatic Registration Control nudges every impression into perfect alignment, in real time. A web video inspection system watches every centimetre. 100% defect detection. Food-grade, migration-compliant inks throughout.

Every reel meets one last guardian. A trained inspector watches the foil unwind, end to end - pinholes, wrinkles, coating gaps, print defects - all caught, marked, removed. The edges are trimmed clean. Nothing leaves this station carrying a defect. Nothing.

QC-passed reels are wound tight, labelled with batch and spec, and loaded onto wooden pallets as jumbo rolls - ready for the truck. Every consignment leaves Hoera with full traceability, protected packaging, and the same standard. The journey ends where yours begins.

Every reel that leaves our floor carries a full line of precision equipment behind it. See how we verify that promise, or start your order today.
